Third party LNG cargo unloaded at Hazira

July 29, 2010: A fresh cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG), bought by public sector Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC) through the spot market, arrived at Hazira in Gujarat yesterday, the company said here.

This is GSPC's seventh spot cargo so far, and the third this year, purchased independently through the open market. GSPC is one of the largest importers of spot LNG cargoes in the country in the current year.
LNG carrier Iberica Knutsen, which sailed from Trinidad and Tobago with over 53,000 tons of LNG, anchored at the Hazira LNG Pvt Ltd's LNG receiving and regassification terminal at Hazira in Surat district yesterday, GSPC said in a statement.
In the current year, GSPC will import five more cargoes under the same short-term supply arrangement either at Dahej or Hazira.
