"ArcelorMittal India Limited has applied for approval of its proposed steel plant in Karnataka to the Single Window Clearance Committee of the state government. Setting up an integrated plant in the state would depend finally on a host of techno-economic factors," said a statement issued by the company.
Company sources further revealed that more details on cost, capacity, timeline, etc would be disclosed at a later time once the technical studies are completed in about three to four months. This proposal is in addition to the company's existing greenfield steel projects in Jharkhand and Orissa, the sources added.
